Recommended Action:

Recommendation

The City Clerk recommends that the City Council:

1.                     Appoint two Civil Service Board applicants to four-year terms ending July 15, 2024; OR

2.                     Direct the City Clerk to immediately re-advertise and invite applications from all interested parties.

Background:

Pursuant to City Council direction at the April 14, 2020 meeting, the City Clerk posted and published a notice inviting applications for two expiring terms on the Civil Service Board, with a May 28, 2020 6 p.m. filing deadline. The City Council at its June 9, 2020 meeting scheduled applicant interviews to take place at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, of which the City Clerk’s office notified each of the applicants (alphabetically listed below).
