It is recommended that City Council waive full reading and adopt by title Ordinance No. 18-1386.

Background:

At the meeting of August 28, 2018, the draft ordinance was presented for City Council consideration.  Following the public hearing, the ordinance was amended as follows:  (1) Section 4, 12.28.090 title to read “Designated in-line skate and scooter areas.”; (2) next paragraph to read “The following areas….in which the operation of in-line skate and scooters are permitted:  any publicly….”; (3) next paragraph to read “No motorized devices, including but not limited to motorized skates, skateboards, or scooters, shall be operated within any publicly owned or publicly operated skateboard facility.”; and (4) Section 5, first paragraph under 12.28.100 title to read “Every person riding a skateboard, in-line skate, or a scooter at a publicly….”

 

The ordinance, as amended was then introduced by a unanimous vote.
